Boy oh boy did he throw a major tantrum today. Whew!
I believe it started over pizza. Mainly Dad ate the slice he'd decided on. Sigh.
I remember reading something once about tantrums...
that kids go temporarily crazy
That their brain chemistry goes wacko
and in about 20 minutes their brains and everything settle down.
So, we tried waiting it out...like a thunderstorm.
And he calmed down, we read a story and he' s asleep!
But
Thank you God that it didn't happen between 9-11 or 3-5 when we were at church

I'm glad it didn't happen at church, either....glad you could wait it out, probably the best thing you could have done. Then, love him, read to him, and let him sleep...if it ever does happen at church I hope you can manage it in a similar way. Most people are not as anxious about a crying kid as the parents, if the parents stay calm and clear on their "approach" then people will too. Of course if you are in the middle of worship you have to take the temper tantrum else where, where no can hear it (LOL, like that's possible...)(the car and home?)...(and then other parents will say, never remove a child from church who is acting out - they only learn to be rewarded by leaving church - sigh - gotta do what works for you).
