Just bloggin to blog

One of the good things...silver lining here folks...about our "delay" has been the logistics for this weekend's huge family wedding. Irish Catholic meets Armenian Orthodox. Should be fantastic!
How we were going to doing it has been supplanted by what will we wear?
By good luck I packed my nice black pants and a fancy top, just in case we were in this sort of dilemna. Mom wants me to wear a dress, or at least a skirt. I'm not against the idea, although I've worn this particular outfit to several weddings without any...problems.
She is wearing the same royal blue confection she wore to MY wedding 10 years ago.
My sister is a size 2 so...she'll wear something slightly offbeat, slinky, gorgeous and it will have cost her next to nothing. At mom's request, we went shopping. Had a fantastic time, found nothing for me, found some fantastically horrendous fashions out there and were back in time to meet the bus for my nephew.
The boys, Flash and my nephew, will be having a sleepover at my stepsister's house with her three kids. My other stepsister's daughter is babysitting for Flash, since he's 3 and there'll be 5 kids. Should be exciting!
Flash is thrilled and slightly worried, I think.

oh, gosh. wedding clothes. I have actually bought expensive outfits (and not expensive outfits) for weddings that I HAVE NEVER WORN AGAIN....what was I thinking?

Flash will have a blast. Although your suspicions of his feelings remind me of my daughter. When she was two my husband and I went to a concert with his sister and brother and their spouses. We all left our kids at the sisters house with the older cousins babysitting. When we returned late at night all of the kids were sound asleep on the sofabed - like six of them. So. We left out daughter there. The next day I picker her up and brought her home. Later that day we went back to SIL for a swim. And my daughter says, as we walk up her steps: "You're not going to leave me here this time, are you?"...LOL... so cute...I of course said. No, I'm not leaving you...

anyway, enjoy the wedding!...and all that comes in the days ahead.

Wedding was very interesting...in the Armenian tradition they get to wear crowns for part of the ceremony. The priest said something about God crowning them with his glory and about them being the king and queen of their own tiny kingdom. Lots of references to children and procreation and children. Slightly embarassing really.

Flash had a wonderful time at the sleepover. He'd like to do it again.

I recently met someone else who had gone to an Armenian Orthodox wedding...similar response.

Glad Flash had fun!
